Art Basel Unlimited Laure Prouvost Wantee [Curatorial Project]

For Unlimited, the gallery presents the first exhibition of Laure Prouvost’s Turner Prize winning installation Wantee, 2013 outside of the UK. Prouvost’s most ambitious film installation to date, Wantee explores ideas of artistic inheritance through the character of the artist’s ‘grandfather’, combining language and images to construct invented storylines that explore slippages between fiction and reality.

This presentation follows Prouvost’s first solo exhibition in the US at the New Museum in February 2014, an ambitious new installation for the Lyon Biennial in 2013, and precedes upcoming solo exhibitions at Neuer Berliner Kunstverein, Berlin and Laboratorio Arte Alameda, Mexico City. Her third exhibition with MOT International will open in June 2014
