Doug

Doug is a 25min live performance of a musical composition written for unaccompanied voice. It was commissioned by The Common Guild, Glasgow in 2014. It was nominated for Turner Prize 2015 and was the first live performance work to have been nominated for the prize. It was performed daily for the duration of the exhibition, in association with Scottish Opera.

Doug is a cycle of nine songs for six voices. The score is notated, uses the entire vocal range, and is performed by an ensemble of six classically trained singers.
