Hair! Human Stories
Hair! Human Stories is an exhibition which explores the extraordinary qualities and uses of human hair - our original fibre. Curated by anthropologist, Emma Tarlo it brings together hair-related ephemera with contemporary art works made from human hair alongside short films and ethnographic photographs taken from the curator's personal collection which documents different aspects of the global trade in human hair. The exhibition has 5 themes: beyond the personal and cultural; harvest; human-animal relations; factories on the other side of the world; hair stuff; recycling possibilities.
