Monochrome Archive is an ongoing research project that I initiated in 1997. It is an inquiry into the relationship between the monochrome in visual art and comparable surfaces that occur in the everyday life of the modern city. These found monochromes of the city are photographed on 35mm colour slides and then presented on a number of formats – analogue or digital slide shows, multi-screen projections, framed prints, pasted photocopies, lightboxes, and books. To date there are over 6oo images in the series.
