How Does an Invisible Boy Disappear
How Does an Invisible Boy Disappear is new film commisioned by the Liverpool Biennial 2018 and was developed over the course of six months with a group of young women from Liverpool at Blackburne House; it is also the starting point for a new women’s film co-operative. How Does an Invisible Boy Disappear? draws upon marginalised histories of the city and explores the work of anti-racist and women-led grassroots film organisations. The group has documented the development of the co-operative as the project has unfolded, addressing their experiences as young women of Somali and Pakistani background and the complexities of working collaboratively. It interweaves fictional and non-fictional accounts of past, present and invented occurrences to examine how spaces and positions of authority are gendered and racialised.
