Reckitt, Helena. 2020. 'Collective Learning in the Feminist Duration Reading Group'. In: The Independent summit, FRIENDSHIP | SOLIDARITY | ALLIANCES. MAXXI Museum, Rome, Italy 24 – 25 January 2020. [Conference or Workshop Item]

The talk focuses on the Feminist Duration Reading Group which has gathered since March 2015 to discuss under-known and under-valued texts, ideas and struggles from outside the Anglo-American feminist canon. In addition to introducing some of the key tenets and practices that the group has explored, Reckitt reflects on the format of reading out loud together, and on how the group functions as a framework for supporting shared research, learning, and responsibility. Resonating with the themes of the symposium ‘FRIENDSHIP | SOLIDARITY | ALLIANCES,’ she considers how the group befriends earlier periods of feminist thought, writing and collective action, and how friendship functions as a central premise of the group’s operations.
