One of the Gapers is the picture story of a woodcarving made over two years by Annie Whiles. The Gaper was the nickname for St Copertino and refers to her long term allegiance with this patron saint of astronauts and also of a biblical story of fallen angels: The Watchers or Nephilim.

First shown at Chapter, Cardiff, July – September 2015 and Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2018, London
