Intermission (St George and the Dragon)

Commissioned by LUX in collaboration with the Artistic Estate of Ian White for the online event 'Limit as Material'. 'Intermission (St George and the Dragon)' is a 2-part video work, broadcast on consecutive days, as an interlude between artists’ performances. The video was pre-recorded a few days before at the same time of day as the broadcast. It shows the changing exterior light conditions from afternoon through winter twilight to night, while experimenting with mixed lighting inside the room. Works commissioned for the event were in response to what writer Ian White called a work’s ‘productive limit’ – the invisible or unstated conditions for the experience of art.
