An exhibition of sculptures, bespoke furniture and an animated film.
The installation features seating welded from drain covers (a toilet humour nod to infrastructure enthusiasts) and a series of limited edition guest soaps embedded with mud and grit exfoliants from a North London industrial estate which is the subject of the animation: “...wash your face dirtier, while reflecting on who owns the land and how is it used, in this rapidly-changing part of London”. These are accompanied by 'Seisin' an essay about land law.
In the film, transhuman cartoon characters manifested from the trash of the industrial estate try to find freedom while facing local economic and ecological change. A pandemic fever-dream that pokes at all our capitalist neuroses: productivity, overwhelm, loneliness and excess.
