The book Spiritual Flavours consists of a photo/cookbook that brings together recipes from people who belong to different faith communities in one neighbourhood in the suburbs of West London, in Ealing. These faith communities comprise a synagogue, a Sri Lankan Hindu Temple, a mosque, a Sikh Gurdwara, an Anglican church, a multicultural Roman Catholic church, a Polish Catholic church and an ethnically diverse Pentecostal church. These recipes have been chosen because of their biographical and spiritual significance and demonstrate the diversity of contemporary suburban London, but also show the many different ways that food and faith are inter-related.

The book is arranged into short sections organised around the recipe contributors, usually individuals, but also groups of family members and friends. Each section opens with one or more recipes and is followed by a short life history. These are combined with photographic portraits, and images of food preparation, domestic interiors, objects, religious practices and worship spaces. The three main elements, the recipes, the biographical texts and the visual narratives work in parallel, each exploring different aspects of personal relationships with food and spirituality.
