Creative Arts in Recovery - Personal reflections and artwork
Background: Creative arts is being integrated into health services and found to be a contributor to positive recovery outcomes. This collection was curated as part of the Multimedia Recovery Workbook project and represents a significant contribution. Method: An invitation to participate was circulated to known interested people with lived experience and on social networks. A submission questionnaire was completed by each contributor together with photographs of their artwork for inclusion in the collection. The curator compiled the submissions into a presentation format, produced a physical display and a video version. Results: The collection is included in the Recovery Workbook and includes 17 submissions with over 60 pieces of artwork. Conclusion: This collection provides evidence of the positive experiences that participating in creative arts activities has added to the recovery experience from addictive behaviours of those who contributed.
