I Gave Them To All The Guys In The Room

This book contribution draws on documentation of a performance Noonan-Ganley staged as part of Rest Breaks at AM London in 2019, where he gave envelopes containing slivers of a script based on identification and deflection in Gareth Thomas's published biographies to members of the audience:

"I gave them to all the guys in the room.

Asked them to read out loud with me, to make a team of sorts.

Some were wary or embarrassed, they didn’t participate and avoided eye contact. Others enjoyed taking on a role, speaking with confidence. Lots of them laughed at the sex bits. Some left the envelopes and slivers of text behind.

At the end of the night I gathered them."
