Sonya Dyer contributed to Decolonizing Appearance with the performance Forward , which she performed during the event Another World is Possible: poetry, performance and practice accompanying the exhibition on December 2, 2018. The performance uses the idea of the virus and viral in relation to migration to Europe, the legacies of African American cancer patient Henrietta Lacks, and the “dark fecundity” of her HeLa cell line.
