Declaration of Independence Art on the Underground

A series of public artworks in Stratford, Bethnal Green and Notting Hill London Underground stations. These works were created as part of a wider project with Art on the Underground. The project included working with Black and of colour women and non-binary staff of TFL and London Underground to develop a performance and publication that was distributed in underground stations. Asante also spent time in the TFL archives exploring photographic documentation of Black and of colour workers. A series of images of Black women were chosen from the archive to become part of the public art works.
