Whiskey Chow is a Chinese performance artist and drag king based in London. From activism to performance art, she evokes different works in which she crosses genders, categories, boundaries and identities. Here she discusses her work and practice, addressing dynamics of socio-cultural dominance and East/West exchange—from her borrowings from classical Chinese opera and mythology to culinary symbolism, othered masculinities, and imagination as resistance.
