Décalé x Chinabot

Music collectives Décalé and Chinabot join forces for a night of live experimental performances, club beats for nocturnal creatures and existential insurgents.

With a lineup of experimental club producer Ans M (Tobago Tracks/Scorpio Red), Avant-garde percussionist Angela Wai-Nok Hui (nonclassical), DJ Jlte Taygeta (Public Order/NTS) and more, we're celebrating the launch of 5, the five-year anniversary compilation from Chinabot. It's the first collaboration between the two collectives, who are coming together to create an alternative space outside of the constraints of commercialised events in the city.

Ans M is a Chinese and British artist and DJ, weaving between contemporary club and ambient experimentation. She has released through TT label and Cime, and co-runs the record label and event series Scorpio Red.

Angela Wai-Nok Hui is a percussionist and multidisciplinary artist based in London and Hong Kong. She is dedicated to new music and has collaborated with many composers, musical artists and ensembles including the London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra,
Abstruckt Percussion Quartet, Tangram Collective, Explore Ensemble, Riot Ensemble, and more. She is a co-founder of Hidden Keileon, a multidisciplinary artist-led non-profit that aims to build inter-racial solidarity through imaginative and creative work. Hui is devoted to exploring
and expanding the boundaries of music, performance and sound art; she has a particular interest in the creative process, and a passion for experimenting with different artforms through
the recreation and reimagining of sound and music. Recently, she has started creating her own work which engages with political references and themes of identity from both places she calls home.

Chooc Ly is an artist, DJ & voyager. With a penchant for electronic music. Her DJ sets are dance-floor focused, forging astral connections through spectrums of Techno, Hip Hop and futuristic club music through to fusions we haven’t found names for yet. Chooc Ly has recently played at Swallow, a queer nightclub in LA; Regenerative Feedback at WORM, Rotterdam; The Living Art Museum, in Reykjavik, Iceland; and GGI 끼 at The Yard, London.

Jlte Taygeta co-resident & rum cream enthusiast at Public Order on NTS & overkeen schemer in various sound-related bits and bobs, always with a rave-related wound or 2. Passionate advocate of trawling Hulkshare & talking to as many strangers as possible. Euphoric low-end bumpers from jersey to jungle. See you at the party!

Zein Majali is a Jordanian-Palestinian artist currently based in London. While her work touches on a post-colonial and globalized Middle East, her primary area of interest is the internet and its effects on both geopolitics and community. Her practice includes video, sound, sculpture and AI.
