Additional Information |
Originality: Presents a new approach to solving the important problem of "global registration", that is, how to best match different shapes, as in solving a three-dimensional jigsaw puzzle. Rigour: This approach has been tested on hundreds of 3D datasets. 3DPVT is one of two major International Conferences focused around 3D Imaging: our paper had 3 peer-reviewers. Significance: This approach now being used in several applications in medical imaging, including carpal bones matching, also in matching multiple 3D scans, and in trying to reconstruct archaeological objects from fragments. |
