[Book Section]
This chapter describes my DMP practice of supporting children and young people with learning difficulties and complex needs in mourning the loss of their peers and loved ones and the importance of coming together as a community to celebrate their life. It draws upon my own experience of serious illness and disability and how facing my own fears of death provided deeper reflections on my clinical work and supervision, allowing me to take the leap into greater explorations of grief.
