How do we move politically in the age of big data? This session considers how we might expand on dance scholar André Lepecki’s term for the politics of movement, ‘choreopolitics’, to think about the particularities of movement in the age of big data: when
people are routinely identified, scored, and tracked through ‘likes,’ ratings, credit scores, and identification technologies. We consider how individuals are broken up into data points,
compared to statistical norms, and reconstituted as identities and credit scores – and think through the implications of these operations for dance.
