In this essay the author engages with the multiple affective powers of the film Estrellas de Ayer (1969) by the Mexican filmmaker Teo Hernández. The author argues that the film is an invitation to discard assumptions and expectations by heating up our senses and allowing us to see and hear again not only the stale images of the past but also the vitality of the relation between cinema and nostalgia, the devotional beauty of the fan film and the subjective disposition opened up by the uncertain experience and stimulating of cinema.
