Artist Residency at ZKM Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe
Residency at ZKM Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe as part of Beyond Matter, a four-year practice-based research programme dedicated to exploring new possibilities for immersive technologies in the art world. Beyond Matter was co-funded by the Creative Europe Program of the European Union and the German Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
My residency proposal positioned ASMR as a form of immersive technology and experimented with ways in which digital media which can trigger physiological, bodily responses through the screen. The residency period led to a commission by ZKM for the exhibition ‘Matter. Non-Matter. Anti-Matter.’ (2022-23). The resulting project, titled ‘Iconoclash: Slow Squeeze,’ will next be shown at the Museum of Modern Art Medellin (2025).
