Objects of Desire

Support Systems: Designers in Residence Takeover was one day event brings together a spectacular line-up of speakers across the fields of design, architecture, science, film, food and performance to reflect on topics including; machine intelligence, diasporic identities, homelessness, and representations of nature through technology.

Soomi Park curated an film screening and panel discussion session, entitled Objects of Desire as a part of this event, which is a two-part event exploring the relationship between emerging technologies and human desires.

The screening consisted of films by designers and filmmakers that illustrate the complex relationship between machines and humans. It includes Soomi Park's project for her residency at the Design Museum, Embarrassed Robots (2017).

Following the screening there will be a discussion between Soomi Park, Nestor Pestana, Joseph Popper and Amina Abbas-Nazari.
