Mothratorium
Permanent surround sound installation for Trumpington Park school in Cambridge, co-composed with the pupils.
The sounds are installed in the Mothratorium: a new headquarters for the Insect Breeding Institute where insects co-habit with people and the people can understand more about the insects around them. This takes the existing pond area identified in the entomological survey as an asset in need of improvement and makes it into a hub for insect life. The project was led by Alex Murdin. The hut was made by Carpenter Oak.
The project has been commissioned by Commissions Projects on behalf of Cambridgeshire County Council and Cambridgeshire Primary Education Trust. Support in kind from University of Cambridge and Bedfordshire, Cambridge and Northhamptonshire Wildlife Trust. Sound installation kindly sponsored by Celestion.
Sound engineering from Mattia Cobianchi, Chris Spear & Dominic Bowers. Solar electrical installation thanks to The Huttie Group.
