Critical Studies in Art and Design: An Introduction
This book section provides an introduction to critical studies in art and design education, explaining how various categories such as studio practice, art history, theory, and criticism have blurred and altered over time. These rich and constructive changes are not well reflected in current school curriculum and pedagogy. Suggestions are made for improving this situation by conceiving learning as a process of integration and seeing both theoretical and practical elements of the subject as the result of this practical activity.
