Soundwalking – a persistent yet markedly peripheral activity of experimentalmusic and sound art – in its most fundamental form, in the words of soundwalker/composer/acoustic ecologist Hildegard Westerkamp, is ‘… any excursion whose main purpose is listening to the environment. It is exposing our ears to every sound around us no matter where we are.’
